The Port of Portland is hosting a series of community meetings with shippers and other stakeholders across the state to discuss what's next for marine container operations at Terminal 6.
Please join us at an in-person community meeting near you this March. Your ideas, opinions and experiences are valued, and we hope to see you there.
As a shipper or someone otherwise connected to the shipping community, you know the importance of the Port of Portland's Terminal 6, the only international marine container terminal in Oregon.
Given the strategic nature of container services for the state and the clear benefit for Oregon businesses, the Port has endured financial losses year after year so the terminal would remain available for importers and exporters – but this practice has never been financially sustainable.
We hope to hear from our community and customers as we explore every possible option to maintain container services, including seeking state funding, negotiating rate increases with carriers, and seeking a third-party terminal operator for a long-term lease.
Please see individual events to register and see additional details.
We are asking for RSVPs to plan for refreshments and seating and to communicate any event changes. Space is limited. All guests must register on Eventbrite in advance.
