Exit Lane Changes on Concourse B and C
Exit Lane Changes on Concourse B and C
8/5/20

Work is beginning gradually at the Portland International Airport to prepare for construction on a newly designed main terminal next year. For the next three months, PDX will move its B/C Security Checkpoint further south so we can expand the main terminal by 150 feet west starting in January 2021.

Here’s what travelers need to know:

  • Starting August 10, travelers who want to exit from the B or C concourse will have a slightly different route. Signs will guide them to a temporary exit on the west end of the B/C Security Checkpoint – close to the restrooms, Kiehl’s and the Market. Once travelers are back in the pre-security section of PDX, signs will direct them to baggage claim, outside to get picked up, or up to the parking garage.
  • The lactation room on Concourse B will close during this time. Nursing parents can find another lactation room near the D-2 gate.

This project will last 12-13 weeks.

While travelers flying out of the B and C concourses will still be able to go through security during construction, TSA is limiting hours at this checkpoint due to low traveler numbers. It is typically open between 4:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. However, the PDX Concourse Connector remains open – allowing travelers to easily get to their concourse from anywhere.
