HIO Landing and Customs Fees

The Port of Portland is committed to maintaining a quality general aviation program as a viable part of its aviation system. To do so, the Port's General Aviation airports must be financially self-sufficient. The Port has developed a four-part approach to achieving financial self-sufficiency for its general aviation airports.

The four parts of the program are:

  1. to control operational and capital costs
  2. to rely heavily on the development of non-airside land
  3. to keep the airside property lease rates in alignment with the local market
  4. to develop new revenue sources. As part of the creation of new revenue sources, the Port of Portland began collecting landing fees at Hillsboro, Troutdale and Portland International airports from operators of general aviation aircraft used for commercial passenger or cargo operations, as well as from operators of aircraft weighing 10,000 pounds or more.

Pilots required to pay a landing fee for operations at the airport should work with an FBO or mail the payment directly to the Port of Portland.
